Workshop: health, environment and poverty in Latin America (Ronaldo Ramirez)

Ronaldo Ramirez also contributed to a round-table discussions on “Health, Environment and Poverty in Latin American Urban Areas” in Buenos Aires during 13-14 November.

The workshop was organised by the Argentinean “Centro de Estudios Ambientales” (CEDEA) and was sponsored by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada. The participants were scholars and researchers in the fields of urban planning, urban sociology, health and urban studies, from Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia as well as academics from Germany and the UK. The programme of the workshop included the presentation and discussion of research and case studies from Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Cochabamba and Lima
